Universities and Colleges
In 2004, the University of Edinburgh become one of the first two Fairtrade Universities in the UK. Between 2004 and March 2009, five other Scottish universities have joined the group, with several more submitting applications or preparing to apply for Fairtrade University status.
The Scottish Fair Trade Forum actively supports and encourages Scottish universities to become Fairtrade. We work with student groups and staff, and have regularly attended events to speak, hand out ever-welcome chocolate samples and 'Fairtrade University policies' and have had an intern committed to creating university resources.
